A 14km run, followed by a day of eating, strolling around in the sunshine and enjoying the Old Town

My idea at the outset of this journey was to mix cycling and running, so this morning (despite the tired legs), I’m keen to get out for a run. I knock out an uninspiring 8.5 miles and am surprised by the feel of my legs. Super tight initially, but I eventually relax into it and find the pace returning. I don’t think there will be many chances to run this trip, so it’s important to take the opportunity

Rest days when touring solo are strange. I find the joy in exploring a place is hugely increased when sharing it with someone. Consequently it’s a somewhat lonely experience but I find time to dutifully service the bike, restock CLIF bars and see the sights (fabulous views to be had looking out over the Old Town)
A couple of thoughts
- You’ve made it to Luxembourg! So, give yourself some credit
- The Eurovelo paths, while meandering, always take you to where you want to go. The surfaces are all passable. Every time you try to take your own path unnecessarily, you invariably end up worse off. STICK TO THE PATH.
- (I fully suspect Iโll break this covenant at the first given opportunity.)
A short update today. This is a cycling blog and I didn’t do any cycling. Normal service will be resumed tomorrow. I’m quite looking forward to it
